📊 Comparing the Chatbot Models of Google's Bard, Microsoft's Bing, and OpenAI's ChatGPT
🔬 AI language models are improving by leaps and bounds, but how effective are they really? We compared Google’s Bard, Microsoft’s Bing, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT with a range of questions to evaluate their capabilities.
🔍 It turns out that Bing has other abilities such as image generation and web access that ChatGPT does not have, but OpenAI is launching plug-ins to allow ChatGPT to access real-time data from the internet. Meanwhile, none of the chatbots gave better responses to gaming questions than Reddit or human strategy guides.
🏆 ChatGPT proved to be the best in recipe retrieval, AI chatbot's factual reliability and creative writing, and verbal reasoning. However, calculations are still a challenge for chatbots, with mixed results for multiplication, division and mortgage calculations. Bing booted the user to a mortgage calculator site, and ChatGPT’s forthcoming plugins will include a Wolfram Alpha option.
🤝 Ultimately, each chatbot system has its own strengths and weaknesses. The conversation is ongoing and evaluation of these systems is both partial and temporary. The best way to learn more is to try these systems for yourself.
