AI will affect 40% of jobs and probably worsen inequality, says IMF head
🌐 Artificial Intelligence is transforming the global economy. A recent report from the IMF suggests AI will affect 40% of jobs across the world, with more significant disruptions expected in advanced economies.
💼 As per the report, our productivity could be boosted by AI integration for half of these jobs. However, key tasks might get taken over by AI applications for the other half of jobs, which could lead to lower labor demand, reduced wages, and eventually job cuts.
📚 As a digital transformation guide, I view this as a pivotal moment in human history. It's crucial to redefine how we understand jobs and productivity, keeping human values and lived experiences at the forefront.
👥 The true test of humanity is not in the technology it creates, but in its ability to help others. In an AI-driven economy, highly exposed yet 'human' jobs like surgeons, lawyers, and judges may stand the test of time.
🔮 Our challenge now is to preemptively shape the socio-economic landscape to ensure the AI transition is inclusive, protecting livelihoods, and curbing inequality.
💎 In the digital age, while machines are mastering machine-centric tasks, we must also celebrate and uplift human potential in areas where machines fall short - creativity, empathy, leadership, and personal connection.
🙋♂️ In my work, I strive to solve the life-altering problems that our society faces due to the rapid digital transformation. This involves workshops, tailored technological solutions, and strategies that ensure practical applications and unique insights.
🔑 As futurists, it's our duty to stay ahead of the curve and maintain a holistic understanding of emerging technologies, ensuring they serve as tools of empowerment rather than displacement.
🤝 By keeping accessibility and inclusivity at the heart of technological innovation, we can help secure a sustainable and equitable digital future for all.
