AI will take some jobs, but mass unemployment isnβt inevitable π‘
π€ Recent advancements in AI have left many fearing for their jobs but the impact of the technology on employment should not be so cynical as history tells us.
π§ Although AI can automate some tasks, that puts jobs that involve repetitive data input and basic decision-making at risk.
π€ The most beneficial scenario is the amalgamation of AI with human roles, where people are still required to offer the complex decision-making skills or that human touch technology currently lacks.
πͺ Governments should promote AI literacy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning programs that provide citizens with the skills that are required to prosper in an AI-driven economy.
π§ While policy-makers should facilitate job placement support and retraining programs, itβs also up to individuals to educate themselves and stay up-to-date with changes in different industries.
π€ We can balance the potential benefits of the tech with the immediate human cost, and aid workers to transition to new, future-proof roles and industries in which they can thrive.
