Avalon raises $13M to build an interoperable digital universe 🕹️
🚀 Exciting news! Avalon Corp has raised $13 million in funding to build an interoperable digital universe or maybe even a "chunk of the metaverse." 🕹️
The Orlando-based company was founded by leaders from games such as Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and God of War, who believe they have the necessary experience to solve the challenges that creators and designers will face in the future.
The company aims to build a platform for games that can take advantage of the metaverse, tied together through technologies like game engines and blockchain. The company will enable other creators to build worlds in its universe, but will also build its own content.
Avalon has avoided calling its platform a "metaverse" as it imagines that a single company can't build that. Instead, the company wants to work with multiple partners and technology, including generative AI, NPC AI, and building tools.
The funding round was led by Bitkraft Ventures, Hashed, Delphi Digital, and Mechanism Capital, with participation from other companies and investors.
