Avatar startup Genies launches $1M fund for developers building AR experiences 💼

💰Genies, the avatar startup backed by Bob Iger, has launched a $1M Developer Engagement Fund to reward developers who build AR experiences using their developer kit.
💪The fund rewards developers based on user traction, engagement and digital item interactions within the experience. The developer kit provides access to Genies' full tech stack, enabling customizable avatars, mini-apps, and social worlds.
📱 The mini-apps will be available in Genies' upcoming super app, set to launch this fall. The XR compatibility of the avatars will make the experiences perform well in mobile AR, AR glasses, and VR headsets.
👨💻 Developers can apply for the fund via Genies' website and the first batch of recipients will be mainly college students and other beginners selected for the Developer Incubator. The company plans to accept thousands of developers by early 2024.
