‘One in three workers fear AI could take their jobs’ 👔
🔮 Changes are unfolding before our very eyes! A recent survey indicates that 32% of working adults are worried about AI potentially replacing their jobs.
💡 Yet, interestingly enough, a similar number (28%) believe that AI could actually simplify their job.
🤔 This split in perception is intriguing and may speak to our varied experiences and understandings of AI.
👔 'Professional' and 'managerial' workers, for example, are more likely to see AI as a productive tool while those in 'administrative' and 'secretarial' roles harbor greater fear of AI replacement.
⚖️ I can empathize with both sides. Yes, machines are becoming incredibly skilled at automating repetitive tasks. However, this creates room for us humans to focus on more complicated, creative, and ultimately rewarding work.
💬 One respondent's comment struck me: “It will be used for corporate purposes, to make money for shareholders or to cut costs. Either way, the average consumer is not the main consideration.”
🎯 I believe we must hold onto our core value of 'inclusivity' amid this transformation. We must ensure that the technology we design is accessible and equitable, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders involved.
