💻 The Hong Kong Police Force has launched CyberDefender, a new Metaverse platform aimed at promoting crime prevention in Web3.

🤝 The CyberDefender Metaverse platform offers educational initiatives to prepare citizens for the challenges ahead in the digital age, with a particular focus on technology crime prevention.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑At the recent event "Exploring the Metaverse," the chief inspector of the CSTCB emphasized the importance of exercising caution in the Metaverse and urged attendees to apply the same level of vigilance they practice when using the internet.

🔒 Mr. Ip Cheuk-yu further added that all crimes in the cyberspace could also happen in the Metaverse. He emphasized the potential risks associated with decentralization, such as asset theft.

📈 Hong Kong witnessed a 75% increase in virtual asset crime, with 663 cases reported during Q1 2023, amounting to a total loss of $570 million. Thus, the HK Police Force aims to increase technology crime prevention awareness, especially among the younger generation, by organizing public educational initiatives on different themes.
