Unmasking AI: More Than Just a Clever Calculator?
Think AI's got all the answers? Think again.
It's not some all-knowing oracle, just a fancy equation solver.
But here's the kicker - isn't that what we are too?
We're biological algorithms (DNA), processing data and spitting out responses.
Sound familiar?
→ AI: Probability-based outputs
→ Humans: Complex decision-making processes
Both rely on patterns, both can be unpredictable.
Let’s face it, we can’t always explain our own choices—our ‘training data’ is just as much of a mystery as it is for AI, and neither of us can easily reverse-engineer how our decisions are made.
So, what's the real difference between AI and human intelligence?
Consciousness?
Maybe. But that's a whole other can of worms.
I feel we make it difficult for people to understand how AI works because the name implies intelligence.
However, attributing concepts like intelligence and consciousness—difficult descriptors even for humans—to machine processes is ill-defined and problematic in this context.
Perhaps it's time to redefine intelligence and consciousness altogether.
We need to challenge our assumptions and explore the blurry line between human and artificial intelligence.
After all, aren't we all just trying to make sense of this data-driven world?
