What Schools Fail To Understand About Neurodiversity
What schools fail to understand is that while individuals naturally think in diverse ways, not everyone is marginalised due to the way they think.
Neurodiversity is a societal concept that aims to acknowledge and validate the lived experiences of individuals marginalised because they think differently.
So, why does traditional education fail to support neurodiverse individuals?
The education system was originally designed to prepare individuals for an industrialised workforce, favouring those who excel at memorising and recalling information in a sequential manner.
This approach amplifies the challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals, who may experience adversity due to their unique learning styles and methods of participation, further marginalising them.
Our education system needs a complete overhaul to effectively prepare individuals for a digital workforce.
That's the reason I'm launching The Netropolitan University, a metaverse university designed to dismantle the barriers associated with traditional educational pathways.
Because If we are to change everything, the transformation must be inclusive of everyone.
